As usual, the doors open at 7 with music to follow. Advance tix are 10 bucks (link to come soon) and at the door it's 15. Nobody will be turned away for lack of funds, of course.
Samara Lubelski (violin): I first became aware of Samara through her work with The Sonora Pine in the mid-90s, and she's been a fixture in a number of communally-textured ensembles in the decades since (Tower Recordings, Metabolismus) as well as various solo+ and duo situations ranging from airy to a downright squall. We look forward to seeing her let loose in the Tub!
Sarah Hennies (vibraphone, etc.): we welcome the esteemed composer and percussionist to the Hudson Valley as she is now a resident of Tivoli and will no longer have to make the schlep from Ithaca to the Bard campus. I first encountered Sarah's music in Austin through new/experimental music circles there and have continued to follow her increasingly nuanced and complex output since we both relocated east several years ago.
Gray/Smith: spacy duets for guitar, drums, voice from these travelers who have conjured in such locales as the No Neck Blues Band, the Suntanama, Rhyton, Pigeons, Hans Chew group, and Barry Walker & The Tanks. Connolly and Smith will leave the bandstand warm.
