I grew up about an hour north of Louisville, KY and my folks ran an independent record store so as a young person I was keenly aware of the whole Slint/Rodan scene. All the stoner/acid/skater kids I looked up to and tried to emulate were definitely about that. So the fact that RODAN Bassist/guitarist/vocalist Tara Jane O’Neil is gonna play here is insane to me. Since those days in the 1990s TJO has gone on to create such a varied and diverse catalog of music. Very humbled to have her perform here. I saw Ryan Sawyer play last week at Union Pool with Steve Gunn and i drunkenly blabbed at him. Hopefully he doesn’t remember me, but Ryan will do a set and then drum with TJO.
