WHEATIE MATTIASICH + LUAH + ALEXANDER TURNQUIST

Doors 7 // Music 8
Tickets at the door
Wheatie Mattiasich is a Baltimore-based singer-songwriter who takes a modern and idiosyncratic approach to the folk ballad tradition. She infuses the form with a singular vision, one that defies categorization. The only thing traditional about her music is the Appalachian dulcimer she employs in some of her songs, and even this is electrified and augmented by echo and reverb. New record is out on Bill Nace's Open Mouth Records. Two of our favorite Kingston artists set the tone for the evening. Luah is Brendan Sullivan & co. / a musician and artist living and working in Kingston NY. Alexander Turnquist is a Kingston , NY based multi-instrumentalist and composer most widely known for his use of the 12- string acoustic guitar as a driving force in creating landscape musical fantasies, expressing longings and fulfillments through movements and melody, creating harmonies out of everyday moments captured within a daydream.
